Bloaters Level 4 Infection The Bloaters are incredibly strong and their bodies are covered in thick fungus that acts as armor. For this reason, their skin is covered with mycotoxin sacs that glow in the dark and large scale-like tissues that cover their entire body. It is very difficult to kill because of this armor. Bloaters are extremely aggressive, but they move rather slowly and lack body coordination, making them more predictable than other infected. Like Clickers, Bloaters"see" by using echolocation to locate and trap a survivor. Their echolocation is much more advanced than clickers, as the fungus completely deforms their faces and blinds them. Their clicks have a much deeper tone than those of a Clatterer. The last thing you...
Clickers Level 3 Infection Clickers have faces completely distorted and scarred by the fungus growing from their infected brains, they look less human than runners and stalkers, and they often have a mouth with only jagged teeth left behind. At this point in evolution, the clothes the host might have been wearing are mostly tattered and destroyed. The skin is covered in mold and scaly fungal growths that can be seen glowing in the dark. Most importantly, the clickers' eyes have been pushed out of their sockets by the advanced fungal growth, leaving the host completely blind. Clickers have developed a kind of crude echolocation, producing rapid clicking and other strange sounds. They are blind, but they know where we are. The formation...
Runners Level 1 Infection Infected people enter this stage in a week or less, depending on where they were bitten. One of the most noticeable symptoms of a runner is increased irritability and hostility towards others. Their skin is pale, mottled and covered with lesions, and their hair has begun to thin and fall out. They retain most of their human features, but their vision is poor because the infection attacks the eyes first. For example, their moans are still human, as is their general appearance. They are quite fast and agile. The runners, unlike normal survivors, stand in a hunched position when immobilized. They can be heard moaning in pain, gasping for breath and slurring their speech as the fungus deforms their bodies. Their...
